Listen up, new and parents-to-be!
CelebrateOne was created in 2014 to reduce the infant mortality rate in Franklin County. They’re hosting a community baby shower for all new parents to offer necessary baby items and info about what to expect.
The Baby Shower will take place on Saturday, April 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the North YMCA, 1640 Sandalwood Place. The event is free to attend but you will have to register in advance. The shower is being held at the same time as the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, so there will be activities and games for the entire family.
At the shower, pregnant people and parents of children under the age of one will receive a free diaper bag, diapers and baby supplies from CelebrateOne, as well as the chance to win a larger gift like a baby swing or stroller. There will also be community organizations on hand ready to answer any questions.
Safe Sleep Ambassador Trainings will be available at the vent, offering 30-minute sessions to teach safe sleep practices for infants. The training will go from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and no additional registration is required to attend the free class. Those who complete the training will be entered to win a six-month family YMCA membership.
